About Us:
Slow Sound Studio was founded by Aaron Feder (Alma Afrobeat Ensemble, Slow Walk Music) and is currently run by Aaron, Ricard Durany and Fernando Redondo, each one with more than 25 years in the professional music business: in the recording booth, behind the board, on stage and on the road.
Aaron Feder
Musical Rennaissance Man
Aaron Feder (Chicago) has a hand in many different pies. Most notably, he is the founder and bandleader of Alma Afrobeat Ensemble, an internationally touring band with 4 albums that he produced with Fernando Redondo. He is also the co-founder of the record label Slow Walk Music, and is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, pedal steel, dobro, mandolin, banjo, bass).
He has over 20 years of experience playing and producing a wide range of styles, from Afrobeat to country, hip-hop to soukous, indy rock to jam band, m’balax to American roots music.
Ricard Durany
Reggae Specialist
Ricard Durany (Barcelona), is Slow Sound Studio’s resident reggae expert. He is a trained sound engineer, having studied at EMAV in Barcelona. Ricard has many years of experience playing reggae as well, for Barcelona mainstay Urban Roots and as a session musician for other reggae bands in Barcelona.
Ricard also has his own record label, Urban Roots Producciones, and he specializes not only in reggae, but also dancehall, hiphop and new roots.
Fernando Redondo
Fernando "Dinky" Redondo
Dinky (Canary Islands) is a bassist, producer and engineer. He has produced more than 100 albums, and received the gold medal for best production in the Global Music Awards. Fernando also works as a freelance engineer in other top-notch studios in Barcelona such as Koryland, Blackbird Studios, RosaAzul and BonSó Studio, as well as a co-founder of Slow Walk Music.
Dinky has worked with all types of music including hip-hop, flamenco, singer-songwriters, rock, and many styles of African music.
